Advance, founded in 1988, is headquartered in Thun, Switzerland. Since its inception, the company has been committed to designing, developing and producing the highest quality paragliders in the world. Advance distributes their wings in more than 45 countries and is the international bench mark for safety, quality, performance and durability. Although Advance paragliders are a little more expensive than those of other manufacturers, Advance paragliders are constructed of the best materials available utilizing the highest quality manufacturing techniques incorporating details that are not found on other paragliders. The design philosophy of Advance does not simply focus on looking good in the performance charts, or in a narrow range of the flight envelope, or attaining a particular certification rating. Advance wings perform exceptionally well throughout the entire envelope of operation.
Advance produces a full range of paragliders both in performance and size to meet the various needs of the pilot. The entire selection of Advance Paragliders can be seen at the Advance Web Site.
Powered ParaSports has chosen the following paragliders from the line of Advance paragliders as those best suited for powered paragliding.
Bi-Beta 3 The Advance Bi-Beta 3-38, a small DHV 1-2 tandem wing, is the perfect paraglider to fill the unique special needs of the larger solo powered paraglider pilot that needs additional lift capabilities. Most paraglider wings have a top placard weight not exceeding approximately 280 lbs.. For the larger pilot that weighs over 220 lbs., the combined weight of the pilot, clothing, paramotor, accessories, and fuel results in an "all up weight" that is over the maximum weight that most paragliders can adequately carry, without significant compromises in the takeoff run length, the landing approach sink rate, and the approach/touchdown speeds; and thus safety. Although many powered paraglider pilots fly their wings above the wing "placard weight", the Advance Bi-Beta 3-38 has a weight carrying capacity above that of most paragliders and allows the larger powered paraglider pilot to fly with a wing that is designed to carry a high "all up weight" without making any sacrifices in takeoff and landing performance. Specifically, a pilot of over 220 lbs with an "all up weight" of over 320 lbs would be comfortably within the normal placard weight range of the Advance Bi-Beta 3-38, keeping it adequately loaded, yet not overloaded. The Bi-Beta 3 also comes in a size 41. For general information, technical details, and colors for the Bi-Beta 3, please click on the following link to the Bi-Beta .pdf file.

Epsilon 4
Advance Epsilon 4 The Epsilon 4 utilizes precise and sophisticated technology that give it exceptional flight characteristics. It has exceptional resistance to deformations and very good pitch stability; qualities that provide the pilot a solid and comfortable flight. The Epsilon 4 is an outstanding "all around" glider. It is the most popular glider in the Advance line of paragliders and probably one of the most distributed in the world : more than 7000 gliders, of which 3000 were Epsilon. The Epsilon 4 is certified as DHV 1-2 with the speed system. Click here to for a comparison chart between the Advance Epsilon 4 and other paragliders.
